Full Job Description
The CNC Setup Technician is responsible for setting up CNC mills and/or lathes, performing first-article inspections, and ensuring machines are properly tooled and ready for production. This role supports daily machining operations by ensuring accurate, efficient, and safe setups.

Schedule: 1st Shift — 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Reports To:Â CNC Supervisor
Key Responsibilities
Set up CNC machines according to job travelers, prints, and tooling requirements
Load programs, verify offsets, and perform dry runs
Conduct first-piece inspections using precision measuring tools
Adjust feeds/speeds and tooling as needed
Troubleshoot minor machine or tooling issues
Maintain accurate setup documentation
Keep work area clean, organized, and safe
Collaborate with operators to ensure smooth production flow
Requirements
2+ years CNC setup experience preferred
Strong blueprint reading skills
Proficient with micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.
Knowledge of G-code fundamentals a plus
Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for long periods
Reliable attendance and strong attention to detail
