Full Job Description

The Horizontal CNC Mill Operator is responsible for operating horizontal machining centers, loading/unloading parts, maintaining quality checks, and ensuring machines run safely and efficiently during production.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: based on experience

Schedule: 2nd Shift — 3:30 PM to 1:30 AM

Department: Machining

Reports To: CNC Supervisor

Key Responsibilities

• Operate horizontal CNC mills according to work instructions

• Load/unload parts and secure workpieces properly

• Perform in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, indicators, etc.

• Monitor machine performance and notify supervision of issues

• Adjust basic offsets with guidance (if applicable to the role)

• Deburr, clean, and prepare finished parts

• Maintain a clean, organized work area

• Follow all safety and quality procedures

Requirements

• CNC machine operating experience preferred

• Basic understanding of blueprints and measuring tools

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand for long periods

• Good attention to detail and reliable attendance

• Experience with horizontal machining centers a plus
